Give Me the Words is a project culminating with a benefit concert to raise funds for the English Program of Safe Passage (Camino Seguro) in Guatemala City.
Safe Passage is an organization dedicated to empowering the poorest at-risk children of families living and working in the community of the Guatemala City garbage dump, by creating opportunities and fostering dignity through the power of education. The newly created English Program will further the educational goals of Camino Seguro – a powerful tool in ending poverty. English competency has a direct impact on the children’s future success. Armed with fluency in English, the children have an excellent chance at breaking the cycle of generational poverty – speaking to a brighter future for themselves and their families, if we would just give them the words.
